Tips On An Enjoyable Airshow Experience

Attending an airshow can be a thrilling experience, but it’s important to be prepared for the event to ensure you have a fun and safe time. Here are some tips to help you make the most of your airshow experience.

First and foremost, safety should be your top priority at an airshow. Be sure to follow all posted rules and regulations, and stay within designated viewing areas. Keep a safe distance from aircraft and do not cross any barriers or fences. Be aware of your surroundings and listen to announcements from airshow officials. If you have any concerns or questions, don’t hesitate to ask for assistance

Wear Earplugs & Sunscreen

Airshows can be incredibly loud, so it’s a good idea to bring earplugs or noise-canceling headphones to protect your hearing. You can purchase these at the event or bring your own.

Bring A Chair, Blanket & Umbrella

It’s a good idea to bring a chair, blanket, and umbrella to ensure you’re comfortable throughout the day. Some airshows have limited seating, so bringing your own chair gives you a place to sit. A blanket provides some cushioning on hard surfaces in the bleachers, while an umbrella provides shade from the sun or shelter from rain.

Peruse Vendors, Food & Beverage

Many airshows have vendors selling aviation-related merchandise, as well as food and beverages. Be sure to try some of the local cuisine and support the local vendors. Remember to bring some cash with you to take advantage of these offerings.

Meet Pilots

Airshows offer a unique opportunity to meet pilots and learn about their aircraft. Many pilots are happy to answer questions and share their knowledge and experience. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about aviation and meet some of the talented individuals who make it possible.

View Aircraft Ground Displays

In addition to the aerial displays, many airshows have displays of aircraft on the ground. Take some time to view these displays and get an up-close look at the planes. You may even be able to climb inside some of them and pretend you’re soaring the skies.

Take Pictures, Make Memories & Have Fun!

Finally, be sure to take plenty of pictures to capture the memories of your airshow experience. Share them with friends and family, and cherish this moment for years to come, or, at least until next year. But above all, have fun and enjoy the show – we’ll see you there!
