About Hawk Aviation
Hawk Aviation is a single-operator flight school, owned and operated by farmer-turned-pilot, Mark Nelson. Founded in 2001, this flight school has been through ups and downs, initially offering to students in and around the Rush City area. Throughout the years, the organization shifted its focus from VFR/IFR flight training to ground school specialization. Today, Hawk Aviation serves a diverse student population that extends into the Twin Cities metro and all around north-central Minnesota. While Nelson remains chief instructor, he also occupies a position as a SkyWest Airlines Transport Pilot for his day job.
