In your research, you’ve probably come across a number of options, including Birds Eye View Aviation, a St. Paul-based flight school offering its own unique mix of personal instruction in a fun learning environment. But, before you go signing up for lessons, it’s important to understand the many aspects of the training process — from plane rental costs to instructor teaching style to certifications offered. This way, you can make an informed decision about your path forward in this new career or hobby.

With that being said, let’s take a look at Birds Eye View Aviation and what to expect when attending this flight school.

About Birds Eye View Aviation

There are a ton of good reasons to take flying lessons in Minnesota, and Birds Eye View Aviation proves that fact with its flight training offerings. Founded by brothers and commercial airline pilots, Andrew and Woodson Lynes, this small but passionate flight school helps spread the same love of flying that drives its owner/operators. You can expect to work with one of these two flight instructors when you sign up for classes at this school.

Birds Eye View Flight Instructors

Even though the Lynes brothers have flying in common, their backgrounds couldn’t be more different. Andrew worked as a construction manager for years before learning to fly in 2016. In just six months, he started an active career of teaching others to fly. Woodson, on the other hand, has been flying for almost two decades and was the person who convinced his brother to learn to fly. Ultimately, this was the driving factor that allowed them to go into business together, creating Birds Eye View Aviation just a few years ago.

Between the two of them, they have instructor certifications that cover the following:

  • Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
  • Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument (CFII)
  • Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI)
  • Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)
