Here are a few ways to enjoy your time in Golden Valley, whether you’re a visitor or local.

About Golden Valley, MN

This first-ring western suburb of Minneapolis has a small, tight-knit community of just over 20,000. With such a great location between downtown and Lake Minnetonka, townspeople enjoy access to a great mix of urban, suburban and natural amenities. However, it’s come a long way since it’s official incorporation in 1886. The area stayed mostly farmland and served agricultural industries until the construction of the Electric Luce Line Railroad, directly through the village in the early 1910s. Between the events of World War I and World War II, the town saw its largest increase in population up to that point, growing from 700 to over 2,000. As the ‘50s came, residential development increased even further, until it was large enough to officially become a city in 1972.  Since then, Golden Valley has cemented itself as a crucial piece of the overall Twin Cities suburban network, thanks to a diverse set of residents, businesses and government facilities. In fact, the association, Discover St. Louis Park, even designated Golden Valley as “Minnesota’s Sweet Spot.”
