Did you know that you can even fly yourself to many international destinations? With a pilot license, you gain complete control over your travels – all it takes is the right training, some planning and a huge sense of adventure! Find out more about Inflight Pilot Training programs here if you’re interested in learning to fly internationally.

Banff National Park, Canada

Canada’s oldest and most impressive National Parks is Banff, located in Alberta. Home to the wondrous Marvel Lake, with its vibrant turquoise water, is truly a sight to behold. Hike among countless miles of trails throughout the Rocky Mountains, and in the winter, head to one of the three world-class ski resorts for some cold-weather fun. Plus, Canada is one of the easiest countries to fly in and out of as a private pilot, so this destination could provide a good practice run if you’re working up to something bigger.

The Outback, Australia

Visiting the Australian Outback isn’t for the faint of heart, but with its famous desert landscape, including iconic sandstone monoliths, red-rock domes and sculpted cliffs, the area offers plenty of natural scenery to explore. Tourists can take camel safaris, learn about aboriginals, enjoy native food and drinks, and interact with wildlife and sanctuaries dotted across the land.

Machu Picchu, Peru

This historic area among the Peruvian Mountains has been among the most popular tourist destinations in the world – and for good reason. Its impressive ancient ruins built in the 15th century are perhaps the most iconic remnants of Incan culture. Fully explorable and hiekable (although non-hiking options are available), visitors can walk among the dry-stone walls, huge blocks and look out at the panoramic views below.

Aruba

As a favorite island destination for many, and part of the ABC islands — Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao — Aruba offers the perfect paradise retreat. Head to the famous beaches for sun, swimming and lounging, or experience the local town that’s full of unique cultural heritage. It’s a tourist-friendly destination, with several commercial hotel options like Marriot, Ritz-Carlton and Hilton, located just 60 miles off the coast of South America.

Phuket, Thailand

Located in the southern part of the country, Phuket provides something for everyone. Because of the low prices in the country, budget-conscious travelers will enjoy everything from affordable accomodations to tours to nightlife, dining and more. Get picturesque views of the limestone cliffs of Phang Nga Bay, or the white sand beaches of Phi Phi Islands. For history enthusiasts, you may also enjoy Wat Chalong Temple and the Big Buddha, a nearly 150-foot seated Maravija Buddha statue.

Reykjavik, Iceland

For one of the top cold-weather destinations on this list, set your coordinates towards the capitol of Iceland, Reykjavik. The city offers tons of major attractions, including the famous Blue Lagoon. Just a short drive in any direction, and you can see some stunning winter scenery. Head out of town and check out the aurora borealis, which can be visible from many areas of the country.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Cabo is known for much more than just spring break. Its beautiful beaches, lush tropical scenery and fascinating local culture make the trip worth it for anyone. Grab some fun in the sun at Medano beach, or head north to enjoy cantinas serving cerveza right on the sand. Plus, like Canada, Mexico and the U.S. are fairly easy to fly between, so it makes it another ideal destination for those working their way up to a longer international flight.
